    Description

    The Ribonucleotide Solution Set (NTP Set) consists of four separate solutions of ATP, GTP, CTP and UTP, pH 7.5 as sodium salts. The NTPs are also available as a Ribonucleotide Solution Mix (NEB #N0466).

    1. Store at -20°C. Avoid multiple freeze/thaw cycles. Dilute with nuclease-free water when necessary. NTPs are used with many RNA products from NEB.

    Tech Tips

    It is important to vortex the tubes prior to use due to high concentration of the nucleotides.

    Quality Control

    Quality Assurance Statement

    • NTPs are highly purified, > 99% pure by HPLC, and are free from detectable DNase, RNase and Nickase. They were validated by in vitro transcription using the T7 High Yield RNA Synthesis Kit (NEB #E2040).

    Quality Control Assays

    The following Quality Control Tests are performed on each new lot and meet the specifications designated for the product. Individual lot data can be found on the Product Summary Sheet/Datacard or Manual which can be found in the Supporting Documents section of this page.
    • Endonuclease Activity (Nicking):
      The product is tested in a reaction containing a supercoiled DNA substrate. After incubation for 16 hours the percent converted to the nicked form is determined by agarose gel electrophoresis.
    • Physical Purity (HPLC):
      The purity of the product is determined by HPLC analysis.
    • RNase Activity (16 Hour Digestion):

      The product is tested in a reaction containing a RNA substrate.  After incubation for 16 hours there is no detectable degradation of the RNA substrate as determined by gel electrophoresis.
