Plasmid Purification
The purification of plasmid DNA from bacterial cells is an important step in the cloning workflow. During plasmid purification, bacterial cells are lysed, freeing DNA and other cellular components from the cell wall. Cellular components are then removed, and the DNA-containing lysate is processed to further remove contaminants and separate the plasmid DNA from the genomic DNA.
Isolate high-quality, concentrated plasmid DNA with Monarch Kits
Purify up to 20 µg of plasmid DNA of various sizes, with elution in as little as 30 µl. Providing consistently high purity and quality concentrated DNA for use in downstream applications, such as restriction enzyme digestion, DNA sequencing, PCR, other enzymatic manipulations and transfection of robust cell lines.
Monarch® Spin Plasmid Miniprep Kits provide a rapid and reliable method for the purification of high-quality plasmid DNA from bacterial cultures. The kit workflow employs standard cell resuspension, alkaline lysis, and neutralization steps, with the additional benefit of color indicators to easily monitor step completion.
Monarch kits for plasmid purification enable the purification of up to 20 µg of plasmid DNA from bacterial cultures. Buffers and columns are available separately for added convenience and all Monarch kits are designed with sustainability in mind — without compromising quality or value.

Easily monitor protocol progression with an optimized buffer system included in Monarch kits for Plasmid Purification

Unique colored buffers prevent confusion and allow for monitoring of certain steps in the protocol. RNase is provided as part of the neutralization buffer, so there is no need to add it before starting — and no risk of forgetting to add it. Our specially formulated wash buffers ensure that salts, proteins, RNA and other cellular components are removed, allowing for the elution of concentrated, highly pure DNA.
