DNA Gel Extraction

The Monarch Spin DNA Gel Extraction Kit reliably purifies up to 5 µg of concentrated, high quality DNA from agarose gels. It utilizes a bind/wash/elute workflow with minimal incubation and spin times. Our unique column design eliminates buffer retention and carryover of contaminants, enabling elution in volumes as low as 5 µl and with fewer steps. Monarch Buffers have been optimized, and do not require pH monitoring. Unlike other kits, there is no need to add isopropanol to the melted agarose prior to loading on the column, saving a step. Eluted DNA is ready for use in restriction digestion, DNA sequencing, PCR, ligation, and other enzymatic manipulations.

Improved performance by design

Our unique column design offers several improvements over other commercially available products, including the elimination of buffer retention and elution in as little as 6 µl.

Advantages of the Monarch Spin DNA Gel Extraction Kit
  • High yields (up to 5 μg) and high purity in the extraction and purification of DNA from agarose gels, with the capability to remove contaminants and residual salts.
  • Elute in as little as 5 μl for elution, allowing for highly concentrated DNA.
  • A short protocol of only 10 minutes of spin and incubation time is needed to complete the workflow.
  • Spin column features a unique design that enables elution in low volumes and minimizes buffer retention and contaminant carryover.
  • No need to adjust pH or add isopropanol.
  • Purified DNA is ready for downstream molecular applications, such as restriction digests, DNA sequencing, ligation, amplification, and other enzymatic reactions.
