FAQ: Can the genomic DNA captured on the Monarch gDNA Removal Column (NEB #T2017) be eluted and used in downstream applications?
Yes. Although the kit was not developed for this application, the genomic DNA can be eluted from the gDNA Removal Column for use in other workflows. Please remember to wash the gDNA Removal Column with RNA Priming Buffer, followed by RNA Wash Buffer (x2), prior to elution with nuclease-free water or TE buffer. NEB has neither characterized nor optimized this protocol modification, so we have no data on the binding efficiency or purity of the DNA obtained.
