FAQ:

Why would I want to add Recombinant Albumin, Molecular Biology Grade, (Glycerol and Glycerol-free versions) (NEB #B9200/#B9211) to my reaction?

Adding bovine serum albumin (BSA) to a reaction can lessen enzyme loss on tube and pipette tip surfaces. Recombinant Albumin, Molecular Biology Grade (Glycerol and Glycerol-free) offers a non-bovine alternative that behaves similarly to BSA. BSA stabilizes enzymes in reaction. The stabilizing effects are most pronounced in overnight reactions. BSA may also prevent adhesion to reaction tubes and pipette surfaces.
