NEB is excited to announce that we are in the process of switching all restriction enzymes to be BSA-free. Beginning July 2021, NEB will be switching our current BSA-containing formulations to Recombinant Albumin (rAlbumin)-containing formulations. We feel that moving away from animal-containing products is a step in the right direction and are able to offer this enhancement at the same price. Please refer to the “Change Notification” section of every product page to determine if the enzyme has switched to rAlbumin by checking the lot number indicated; all subsequent lot numbers will contain rAlbumin. In addition, each trading card accompanying enzymes will indicate if the enzyme has switched formulations.
There is no performance difference between the two formulations so please continue to use whichever formulation you receive.
