Yes, the resin may be re-used three to five times when cleaned and stored with the following sequence of washes:
Water: 3 column volumes
0.1% SDS in water: 3 column volumes
Water: 3 column volume
Column Buffer: 3 column volumes (for use in the short-term)
or
20% Ethanol: 3 column volumes (for long term storage)
We recommend performing the cleaning protocol described above at room temperature to avoid SDS precipitation at lower temperatures.
Upon repeated use of amylose resin, amylase in the E. coli extract decreases the binding capacity of the column; therefore, it is recommended that the column be cleaned and stored--as described above--promptly after each use.
