FAQ: Which magnets (2 ml and 200 µl sizes) do you recommend?
Any tube or 96-well plate magnets can be used that provide sufficient separation with minimal bead loss upon removal of the supernatant. For tubes, we recommend the NEB magnetic separation racks (NEB #S1506 or S1509), and 96-well magnetic separation plates from Alpaqua, cat no A001322. For the larger volume Sample Pooling and Bead Cleanup step (Protocol Step 1.4), a 15ml conical tube magnet may be used).
