I have been asked “What is overcycling and how can I avoid it?”

Overcycling happened during the PCR when the reaction has run out of PCR primer. You will see large molecular weight fragments appear on the bioanalyzer. If you think that you have overcycling issues, you can just try to reduce the number of PCR cycles next time.
