Nick translation is a DNA labeling and tracking method by which radio- or fluorescently-labeled nucleotides are incorporated into DNA using a DNA Polymerase with a 5’-3’exonuclease activity. These labeled DNA probes can be used in DNA and RNA blots, for library screening and for fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) assays.
