Description

The siRNA Marker is a set of three synthetic non-phosphorylated siRNA duplexes that are 17, 21 and 25 base pairs in length with 2-base 3´ overhangs. This marker is suitable for use as a siRNA size standard on native polyacrylamide gels (Figure1).

Notes

  1. The duplexes share some sequence similarities (Figure 2). Therefore, incomplete denaturation/reannealing will result different size species.  For denaturing gels, we recommend the microRNA Marker (NEB #N2102) be used.

FAQs

  1. Should I denature the siRNA Marker before loading on my native gel?
  2. Should I use the siRNA Marker, since I want to know the size of a single stranded RNA molecule? Should I denature the marker before I run it on the gel?
  3. What do I do if I want to be able to detect the siRNA Marker by hybridization?
  4. What is the difference between the siRNA marker and the microRNA marker (NEB #N2101S)?
