FAQ: We have recently ordered the SNAP-Cell 647-SiR and when it was resuspended in DMSO the solution didn’t change to a blue color like SNAP-Surface 649 and SNAP-Surface Alexa Fluor 647. Is there something wrong with the substrate?
When SNAP-Cell 647-SiR is dissolved in DMSO, it remains colorless, unlike SNAP-Surface 649 or SNAP-Surface Alexa Fluor 647 which turn a blue color upon reconstitution in DMSO. The color of the fluorescent substrate upon dissolution in DMSO is not an indicator of its performance.
