  • FAQ: What is the difference between Bst DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment and Bst 2.0 DNA Polymerase?

    Bst 2.0 DNA Polymerase is an in silico designed homologue of Bst DNA Polymerase, Large Fragment engineered for improved amplification reaction properties. Both DNA polymerases can be used in isothermal amplification, strand-displacement, and DNA sequencing applications, but Bst 2.0 DNA Polymerase provides numerous advantages: increased amplification speed and yield; higher salt tolerance (to 120 mM monovalent salt); greater optimum temperature range and thermostability (60–72 °C); and improved dUTP incorporation (maintains performance with 100% replacement of dTTP by dUTP). Applications that require Bst DNA Polymerase can be performed with Bst 2.0 DNA polymerase with more flexible reaction conditions and likely improved results.
