FAQ: When should native T7 DNA Polymerase be used?

The high fidelity and rapid extension rate of T7 DNA Polymerase make it particularly useful in copying long stretches of DNA template. It is also an enzyme of choice in the oligonucleotide-directed mutagenesis without phenotypic selection method (1). See Current Protocols in Molecular Biology for a complete protocol (2).
