New Reagents from New England Biolabs Bring Purity and Increased Value to Sample Prep for Next Generation Sequencing

Ipswich, MA (September 9, 2010) - New England Biolabs (NEB) has expanded its line of reagents for sample preparation upstream of next generation sequencing with the introduction of NEBNext® mRNA Sample Prep Reagent Set 1 and Master Mix Set 1. These new products include enzymes, buffers and protocols for the conversion of purified mRNA to DNA, followed by library construction. The reagents are suitable for non-directional mRNA library preparation for Illumina® sequencing using the GAIIx, GAIIe and HiSeq™2000 instruments, as well as for the preparation of expression libraries. Both sets provide substantial cost savings, and the master mix set further streamlines the workflow by reducing the number of vials and pipetting steps.

NEBNext products are a series of highly pure and cost-effective reagents that facilitate DNA and RNA sample preparation for downstream applications, such as next generation sequencing. All reagents undergo stringent quality controls and functional validation by sequencing, ensuring maximum yield, convenience and value. Available as reagent sets, master mixes or modules for the three leading next generation sequencing platforms, the full range of NEBNext reagents offer convenience and customization of workflow. Additionally, NEB offers NEBNext® dsDNA Fragmentase™, an enzyme-based solution for fragmentation of DNA.
