New England Biolabs® honored as a “Top Place To Work” by The Boston Globe

Ipswich, MA, November 18th, 2014 – New England Biolabs (NEB®) announced today that it finished in 3rd place overall among large companies (250-999 employees) in The Boston Globe’s Annual Top Places to Work magazine, which was published online and in The Boston Sunday Globe on November 16th.

The Boston Globe’s 2014 Top Places to Work survey, conducted by employee survey firm WorkplaceDynamics, measured about 73,500 individuals’ responses to statements regarding six key factors related to employee happiness, including company direction, execution, employee connection, work load and responsibility, management, and pay/benefits. NEB scored significantly above the benchmark in all of these categories, and was the highest ranked biotech/life science company in the entire survey.

This award is well timed, as NEB is currently celebrating its 40th anniversary, and recently introduced its Passion in Science AwardsTM, which recognized scientists for their inspirational work that crosses into the arts, humanitarian service, environmental stewardship and scientific leadership.

“At NEB, we have a talented, diverse and thoughtful group of employees, who are dedicated and passionate about doing what is best for the company, the advancement of science and the preservation of the environment,” states Jim Ellard, CEO of NEB. “We strive to provide a unique and supportive environment, which promotes a healthy, balanced lifestyle in and outside the workplace. Maintaining and improving that environment is key to our continuing success. We would like to thank our employees for 40 years of service and dedication, and for making NEB one of the Boston Globe’s Top Places to Work.”
