Description:
LongAmp™ Taq DNA Polymerase is a unique blend of Taq and Deep VentR® DNA Polymerases. The 3´→5´ exonuclease activity of Deep Vent DNA Polymerase increases the fidelity and robust amplification of Taq Polymerase (1). LongAmp Taq DNA Polymerase offers up to six fold higher fidelity than Taq DNA Polymerase alone. A wide range of PCR products can be generated, up to 40 kb from lambda DNA and 30 kb from human genomic DNA.

Unit Definition:
One unit of LongAmp Taq DNA Polymerase is defined as the amount of enzyme that will incorporate 10 nmol of dNTP into acid-insoluble material in 30 minutes at 65°C.
Unit Assay Conditions: 1X ThermoPol Reaction Buffer, 200 µM dNTPs including [3H]-dTTP and 200 µg/ml activated Calf Thymus DNA.

Long Amplicon PCR::
LongAmp Taq DNA Polymerase is tested for the ability to amplify a 40 kb amplicon from lambda DNA and a 30 kb fragment from human genomic DNA.
