Product Manager/Developer: RNA Enzymes/PURE - 6071RG

Qualified candidates are invited to apply for the position of Product Manager for NEB’s growing In Vitro Protein Synthesis and RNA product line. This position will report to Production, but will involve a significant amount of product development and interaction with Production and Research groups.

Responsibilities:
  • Manufacture and qualify in vitro protein synthesis and/or RNA product line.
  • Coordinate all processes from manufacturing to inventory control and customer support.
  • Improve and develop related products as needed.
The ideal candidate will:
  • Have strong hands-on experience with protein purification and enzymatic assays.

Postdoctoral Fellowship - Gene Expression - 1042CT

The Gene Expression Division is inviting applications for a Postdoctoral Fellow to investigate the structure and function of the GPI anchor in secretory protein trafficking in a mammalian epithelial cell model. Projects will involve investigating the timing and mechanism of modifications made to the GPI anchor during the transport of GPI anchored proteins to the cell surface. Research will be undertaken in a highly collaborative and academic environment where publication of results is expected.

The ideal candidate will have:
  • A strong background in molecular biology and carbohydrate biology.
  • Experience with genetic manipulation of mammalian cells (e.g. RNAi, gene deletion, regulated gene expression etc.).
  • Experience with confocal microscopy and immunolocalization techniques.
  • The ability and personal drive to lead a project conducting original basic research in a technically challenging field.
Qualifications:
  • Doctorate in biochemistry, genetics, cell biology or related field.
  • Experience in conducting research on topics in glycobiology.
  • A strong record of scientific publication.
  • Proficient in mammalian cell culture.
  • Standard molecular biology techniques.
  • Ability to work as part of a large multidisciplinary team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Postdoctoral Research Associate - Ocean Genome Legacy - OGL-LC

The Ocean Genome Legacy Laboratory for Marine Genomic Research (www.oglf.org) seeks a postdoctoral research associate to investigate lignocellulose degradation by wood boring marine bivalves of the family Teredinidae (shipworms) and their bacterial endosymbionts. The successful candidate will be knowledgeable and experienced in genomics, proteomics, and bioinformatics and must have excellent laboratory skills in molecular biology and microbiology. Knowledge of microscopy and enzymology of lignocellulose degradation is also desirable.
